You've Heard It Your Whole Life

You've heard it your whole life. The Bible is the Word of God. You've said it. You've sung it. You've probably taught it to your kids. And in all those years, nobody ever handed you a Bible and asked you to prove it from the text itself.

What you find when you do will sound wrong at first. It sounded wrong to me. Then I read what Peter actually said.

Peter says you were born again through the Word of God, and then he tells you exactly which Word he means. He quotes it. It is not the Bible. It is a specific passage from Isaiah that came from God's own mouth seven hundred years before Peter was born.

That passage has a name. It has a location. It has a chain of witnesses. Paul preached it from the Law and the Prophets. Mark called it the beginning of the Gospel. John said it became flesh. They are all pointing at the same place on the page.

Here is what is at stake. Scripture says you are born again by this Word. It says faith comes by hearing this Word. It says this Word is what saves. If the Word is specific, and you have never identified it, you have walked past the door every day of your life without knowing the door was there.

You were not asked to check. We are asking you now. Come see what Peter was quoting.

Read the argument traced passage by passage.
